The Future of KCPA
Please note the 10th March deadline for your response.
Letter to all members, sent to club secretaries on 14th February.
The Pandemic is now behind us and like many of our clubs the KCPA is returning to business as normal, planning and holding events, which will include an AGM later this year. However, prior to this, the KCPA Committee is seeking suitable nominations to come forward for the key positions of President, Vice President, and Treasurer. If suitable candidates cannot be identified the KCPA will be dissolved according to arrangements laid out in the Associations Constitution.
In addition to these key roles, the KCPA Committee is seeking 6 additional Committee Members to assist with plans for upcoming events and to take over responsibility from current Committee Members leaving at the next AGM, notably managing the Association’s Website and the Junior Vice President role. To ensure a smooth transition, current and retiring committee members will offer extensive support to all new incumbents.
It is important that club members understand that the demise of the KCPA will immediately cease the provision and training of Judges for Club competitions, speakers, the Ross Cup, the Diamond Jubilee, the annual Exhibition, club insurance, KCPA website and, finally, access to activities at a national level, through the PAGB, notably Distinctions, Masters of the Print, national print and PDI competitions and exhibition.
It is sincerely hoped that we can elicit sufficient support from Associate members so that the Committee can not only continue to function but develop new and inspiring activities to encourage aspiring photographers to develop their skills and enjoyment of our shared hobby!
Should any club members wish to join the KCPA committee, please provide us with their contact details by Sunday 10th March 2024, to kcpasecretary@gmail.com If they would like to discuss a role or committee membership then contact me on 01634 -303540 or tracyhughesphotography@gmail.com. Help us make sure that the next communication is not notice of an EGM to dissolve the KCPA.
Kind Regards Tracy Hughes CPAGB LRPS BPE2* KCPA President & Competitions Coordinator
